AMSOIL Performance Earns Customer's Praise
 |
| AMSOIL FOR ALL OF HIS VEHICLES - Mark Austin poses with his vehicles outside his home in Richardson, Texas.
Austin says he's not only an AMSOIL customer for life, he's an AMSOIL "zealot." |
| "I'm just thrilled, absolutely thrilled with this oil's performance in both of these
vehicles."

As synthetic motor oils have gained popularity during the last 30 years, few people dispute their ability to perform.
But Mark Austin of Richardson, Texas is convinced from his recent switch to AMSOIL motor oils that AMSOIL is the best of the best.
He's always been a proponent of synthetics, Austin said, and has used Mobil 1 synthetic for years.
He assumed "synthetics are synthetics," he said and thought the claims he heard about AMSOIL were exaggerations.
AMSOIL Dealer Ches Cain sold Austin on putting AMSOIL 10W-30 Motor Oil in his 2001 Ford Windstar.
"I've always considered AMSOIL Dealers to be a bunch of zealots. Why would anybody get excited about motor oil? I get it now," Austin said. "The
Windstar quieted right down and smoothed out so much that my wife, Leslie, even noticed the change (that's big). She pays no attention to mechanical
things whatever and she noticed it ran quieter and smoother.
"It runs and sounds like sombody replaced the V6 with a tiny turbine engine and it picked up a little more power, too."
About a month later, Austin put AMSOIL 15W-40 Heavy Duty Diesel pickup with a Turbo-Charged Power Stroke V-8 engine. "I call it the monster
truck," Austin said. And he uses that truck hard. He hauls a 32-foot travel travel trailer, his dirt bikes and his family of four with the truck.
"That truck is a real hoss," he said.
Because it's a diesel engine, Austin said, it's never going to run quietly, but when he put in the AMSOIL "it immediately got quieter," he
said.
The truck gained power, as well. "It has better acceleration off the line than it had before, and better acceleration across its full range. You
can really feel it in the seat of your pants," Austin said. "And the whistle of the turbocharger? This oil shut that turbocharger up. It's almost
inaudible.
He has a personal theory that the turbocharger is spinning so much more freely with the AMSOIL motor oil that his acceleration ahs improved.
However, Austin admits it is simply his experience with the AMSOIL motor oils, and not the result of any scientific study.
He has, however, measured the difference in gas mileage with the huge diesel engine. Before using AMSOIL motor oil, Austin got 11 miles per gallon
doing in-town driving. After he installed AMSOIL, he got 13.8 mpg. "That's like 25 percent," he said. "That's a huge improvement."
"I'm just thrilled, absolutely thrilled with this oil's performance in both of these vehicles. Leslie's van is smooth, it's really smooth."
Austin is an avid dirt bike rider, and the family regularly rides on camping trips.
Austin put AMSOIL 20W-50 Synthetic Motor Oil in his 2002 Kawasaki KLX300 off-road dirt bike. After switching to the AMSOIL, he spent a grueling
day in the blazing Texas sun.
"I have to say I am thoroughly impressed," Austin said. "Of course, on a dirt bike, the engine is exposed so you can hear everything, and the
valvetrain went silent." The bike also has more power, less vibration and revs more freely, he said. "Shifting also has improved," Austin said. "With
the Mobil 1, the shifter got mushy when the engine was very hot. With the AMSOIL, the shifter remained crisp."
He began a small Dealership recently and expects to grow a customer base simply because he tells everyone he knows how impressed he is with the
AMSOIL products.
"I am a big fan," Austin said. "I used to think you AMSOIL guys were just a bunch of zealots, and now I am one."

Satisfied Customer Returns to AMSOIL
When something is right, it's just always right.

HEADING OUT FOR TROUT - Preferred Customer Lars Lignell hauls this 31-foot trailer across rugged terrain with his 1989 Dodge 350 pickup
truck with confidence. He runs AMSOIL lubricants bumper to bumper.
Lars Lignell, Salem, Ore., became a believer in AMSOIL synthetic lubricants in the 1970's when he put the company's original 10W-40 Synthetic Oil
in his 1970 Plymouth with a 318 ci engine. He lived in Aurora, Ore. then and he loved the AMSOIL motor oil. But nearly two years later the Dealer he
knew couldn't be found and Lignell couldn't find the product anymore. So, he went back to regular motor oil.
That was when AMSOIL was first starting its reach across the country. Now AMSOIL motor oils are found in shops in every state. AMSOIL products are
available through tens of thousands of Dealers and through the internet, which brings them directly to your door.
Lignell, who retired after 33 years of driving Greyhound buses, was reminded of his preference for AMSOIL motor oil early this year when he took
his 1989 Dodge 350 pickup truck to Dan Judy Automotive in Salem to have a Banks turbo boost system installed. There, he found the complete line of
AMSOIL products. He was delighted to find the AMSOIL products again and instructed the mechanic to switch the diesel engine over to AMSOIL 15W-40
Heavy Duty Diesel and Marine Motor Oil. A few weeks later, he put in AMSOIL Transmission Fluid.
"I was glad to find it again because I had such good lick with it in my 1970 Plymouth," Lignell said.
Those changes paid off this summer when Lignell and his son, Lars Jr., went on a fishing trip into Washington state, pulling a 31-foot Jayco
travel trailer behind the pickup in 80- to 90-degree weather. "Most of the time the transmission fluid temperature was running about 220°F,"
Lignell said. But during a particularly long, steep grade just after crossing the Columbia River the transmission temperature slowly started to rise
to about 230°F. As he reached the top of the long, steep grade the temperature was riding right at 300 degrees. It cooled down on the downhill
side, and Lignell stopped for fuel in Pasco, Wash.
"I checked my transmission fluid and it still looked nice and pink and didn't even smell the least bit burned," he said. It was further proof to
him that AMSOIL makes the best synthetic lubricants on the market. "If my transmission fluid had been the regular tranny fluid, I'm sure it would
have been badly burned," Lignell said. "Thanks AMSOIL, glad I found you again."
He signed on as a Preferred Customer for the cost savings benefits the plan offers him and plans to add AMSOIL lubes to his drive train and the
AMSOIL antifreeze. "And then I am set," he said. "I'm just going to keep using it because it's so much more economical." His truck takes 12 quarts at
an oil change so using AMSOIL, with its extended drain capabilities, offers him significant savings.
Nowadays, Lignell spends a lot of his time fishing, bringing home big trout, and he has the confidence his truck will continue to haul him to all
of those secret lakes trouble free.

No Need to Fish Around for the Finest
Bruce and Denny Leeson are professional anglers and promoters of the sport. The duo has had numerous top 10 finishes over the past 20 years.
They're dedicated to the education of sport fishermen. A couple of years ago the Leesons met AMSOIL Dealer Will Falkiner who educated them on the
finest synthetic lubrication made. They've been hooked ever since.
The Leesons put AMSOIL Series 2000 2-Cycle Oil in their Mercury outboard. AMSOIL 2-Cycle Oil reduces plug fouling and deposits. It allows te pros
to get to where thy need to be quickly. "We are thankful for the opportunity to use AMSOIL products. They performed flawlessly and definitely gave us
an advantage over the competition and above all, a level of peace of mind we never had before." Leesons also count on the performance of AMSOIL
15W-40 Heavy Duty Diesel and Marine Oil and gear lube for their fishing charters.

AMSOIL Cools Tranny
in Nevada Heat
AMSOIL IN THE TRANNY - Dwight Barr with his '98 Chevy dually outside hes homein Anderson, IN. He uses AMSOIL lubricants
to keep his truck running cool.
Dwight Barr, Anderson, IN likes to tell his AMSOIL story. In fact, he tells it to anyone who will listen. "It's easy to tell," Barr said, "because
it's true. It's great stuff. I love it."
He's been using AMSOIL lubricants for more than 10 years, He puts 10W-40 and 10W-30 motor oils in his cars, lawn mowers, generator and trailer. He
also uses AMSOIL Grease and Gear Lube.
|
Several years ago he installed an after-market transmission filter with a temperature sensor on his '98 Chevy dually.
"I watched the transmission temperature closely when going up hills while pulling my 37-foot, 17,000-pound 5th wheel camper."
Outside of Austin, NV, in 80-degree temperatures, he encountered a very steep hill and watched his tranny temperature stay consistently at 260
degrees.
He's a traveler, he said, and decided to try the AMSOIL ATF before the next pass by that particular spot.
"Keep in mind the same truck, the same trailer, the same hill and the same air temperature, and with the AMSOIL ATF, the temperature never got
above 220 degrees," Barr said. "That is a significant reduction in anybody's book."
He spreads the word about AMSOIL at campgrounds he visits and refers people to the website or Steve Dunn, his own Dealer in Indiana. "I really
like the products," he said. "I woudn't change a thing."

AMSOIL Flows in Canadian Cold
CANADA COLD - AMSOIL Dealer Ernie Berg stands next to his 1992 Chevy Lumina at his home in Nipawin, Saskatchewan, Canada. Berg trusts AMSOIL to
keep his car running at the lowest temperatures of a Canadian winter.>
From the Nevada heat to the cold of Canada, tales are being told of the superior qualities of AMSOIL.
Ernie Berg, Nipawin, Saskatchewan, Canada, started using AMSOIL products this past winter on the recommendation of Darcy Wiklun, a friend and
AMSOIL Dealer in Canada.
"He was speaking from experience, and I figured I would take his advice," said Berg, who is an industrial mechanic/hydro station operator for
SaskPower, the provincial power provider. He was so impressed with AMSOIL, he became a Dealer.
|
He started with AMSOIL 5W-30 Motor Oil in his 1992 Chevy Lumina, 3.1 liter, V-6 when it had more than 98,000 miles on the engine.
"I was getting around 32 to 35 miles per gallon burning premium fuel and regular motor oil," Berg said. "When I changed over, I noticed an
immediate increase in horsepower. I had more power with the air conditioner running than I had before without it running. My motor started running
smoother and cooler."
On his first road trip, Berg got 38 miles per gallon. Then he added the AMSOIL 2-Stage Air Filter. On his next trip, Berg got 43 miles per gallon.
A significant savings for Berg, who said gas prices were at $3.82 a gallon.
He typically averages 37 to 38 mpg now, he said.
The toughest test of the AMSOIL products came in January, whe the temperature fell to -34°F.
"My battery was so low I had the car plugged in, but it barely turned over," Berg said.
The car did start, however.
"I found there was none of the usual tick-tick-tick of no oil in the top of the motor," he said. "The oil light went out immediately. My power
steering was making more noise than the engine. I cannot tell you how impressed I am with AMSOIL.
"I tell anyone who will listen about this product and how it has benefitted me and my car. I will not be going back to conventional motor
oils."

Texas Fabricators Meet Demands With AMSOIL
STAYING ON THE ROAD-AMSOIL Dealer Troy Klump, left, and Darren Rhodes stand outside D&G Enterprises, Inc., in Helotes, Texas.
Rhodes uses AMSOIL in his Ford F-350 truck and recently added AMSOIL lubricants to company fleet trucks.
When your business depends on getting there, keeping your equipment humming down the highway is your top priority.
|
Darren Rhodes puts his money on AMSOIL to keep the company's trucks delivering. Rhodes works for D&G Enterprises, Inc., reinforcing steel
fabricators in Helotes, Texas, where his wife is one of the owners. The fabrication company runs two F-350 power strokes, two '93 Peterbuilt delivery
trucks, a '94 Peterbuilt, a '96 International bobtail and other equipment.
"Our delivery trucks are always loaded to the max and off to the job site they go," Rhodes said. "These trucks average 12,000 miles a month. As
busy as we are, we can't afford any downtime."
In August 2000, Rhodes met AMSOIL Dealer Troy Klump, who convinced him AMSOIL products would keep the equipment on the road longer between oil
changes, improve fuel efficiency and keep equipment in good running order.
In short, Rhodes opened a commercial account.
He ordered AMSOIL Engine Flush, 15W-40 Heavy Duty Diesel and Marine Oil, Diesel Fuel Modifier and MP Metal Protector for his fleet trucks and his
own 1999 Ford F-350.
"I have AMSOIL bumper to bumper with Series 3000 5W-30 Heavy-Duty Diesel Oil, ATF, 75W-90 Gear Lube and by-pass filtration," Rhodes reports.
"I will be putting AMSOIL in all my equipment very soon simply because of an increase in fuel economy, a lot fewer oil changes, easier starting,
cleaner emissions and my F-350 will last longer," he said. "Thanks AMSOIL for your great products and my local AMSOIL Dealer."

AMSOIL 2-Cycle Oil Saves Snowmobile Power Valves
BETTER SNOWMOBILES-Preferred Customer Jay Kurtz and his friend John Hay, who also registered recently as a Prferred Customer, run
ANSOIL 2-Cycle Oil in their sleds. The Arctic Cat 2001 ZR 600 EFI, ZR 600 EFI and 2002 XC 800 gave the guys great rides this winter in the Northeast
Kingdom of Vermont.
From Texas to Connecticut, heavy equipment to snowmobiles, AMSOIL products meet the diverse demands of operators and riders.
Jonathan "Jay" Kurtz, Trumbull, Conn., an engineer at Nicoll Krepak Consulting Engineers, became an AMSOIL Preferred Customer a little more than a
year ago. "The customer service and support that I have received has been top notch," Kurtz said.
He learned about the Preferred Customer Program in an Internet search for a better oil for his 2001 Arctic Cat ZR EFI with APV (Arctic Power
Valves).
|
The model's power valves reportedly stick when the machines get 300-400 miles on them, Kurtz said, so he examined his options on the Internet and
decided to try AMSOIL.
"Well, after 2,000 trouble-free miles, I pulled my power valves for cleaning and am happy to report that there was zero build upon the valves,
"Kurtz said. "In fact, my valves slid right out with no persuasion at all."
The Kurtz family, Jay's brothers, sisters and parents, enjoy snowmobiling together. In fact, one brother dabbles in non-professinnal snocross
competition. They all run AMSOIL 2-Cycle Motor Oil in their snowmobiles. "Collectively;, we went through 16 gallons of the AMSOIL 2-Cycle Oil last
year," he said. "The Preferred Customer Program allows me huge savings. And we save a lot in maintenance costs because we've had no problems with the
power valves. I attribute that directly to the AMSOIL."
He's particularly impressed with the significant reduction of smoke and smell the snowmobiles emit. "AMSOIL is all I use now," he said.
His 2000 Chevy Silverado runs with AMSOIL 5W-30 Motor Oil, SDF Filter and 2-Stage Air Filter.
He's put a handful of people on to the Preferred Customer Progran and is considering becoming a Dealer.
As many Dealers have found, Kurtz also finds that people let go of preconceived ideas about synthetics slowly. But he has also convinced his dad,
who recently started running AMSOIL in his own vehicle.
"In a short period of time I have become a full believer in AMSOIL products and can reccommend them to anyone," Kurtz said, "Bottom line - AMSOIL
works as advertised. Thanks for making a great product."

Dealer builds credibility with 1996 VW Passat
LOTS OF MILES TO GO - Mark Chalkley stands beside his 1996 VW Passat at his home in Saluda, VA. Chalkley credits AMSOIL lubricants for
more than 287,000 trouble free miles on the engine.
Mark Chalkley, Saluda, VA, has been an AMSOIL Dealer for the better part of 15 years but doesn't sell the products for profit. "I've never made
one dime off of it," he said. "I became a Dealer for the price break and never intended to make money selling it."
Chalkley is a semi-retired computer programmer, who also is a heavy equipment operator.
|
He also gives advice on TractorNet, and informational Website for agricultural equipment users. According to Chalkley, he'd lose credibility if he
made money through recommending AMSOIL to those operators. "I can do AMSOIL more good by not doing it for the money," he said.
Instead, Chalkley tells people about AMSOIL. And, he tells them quite a story. He has several vehicles, a 1993 Dodge pickup truck with a Cummins
engine that he uses to haul loads of more than 25,000 pounds, a 1997 Ford Contour and an earth mover back hoe. "I use AMSOIL in everything," Chalkley
said. "I have never worn out anything that has had AMSOIL in it."
He put AMSOIL Series 3000 5W-30 Heavy Duty Diesel Oil in his 1996 VW Passat at about 10,000 miles. He put AMSOIL 75W-90 Gear Lube in the tranny.
The Passat has 287,000 miles on it and it's still running the same gear lube. Chalkley changes his oil filter every 25,000 miles, his oil every
50,000 miles. "There's no by-pass kit on it either, and I've never had a problem. Not a one," he said.
He adds about a quart of oil every 4,500 miles. Oil consumption hasn't changed in the six-year-old car since he switched to AMSOIL early on and it
improved then. "It's not burning any oil," he said.
Chalkley sends customers directly to AMSOIL for the products he recommends to them.
NOTE: The AMSOIL-recommended drain interval for the Series 3000 5W-30 Heavy Duty Diesel Oil in
passenger vehicles with diesel engines is up to two times longer than manufacturer's recommendations, with oil analysis, or six months. The change
interval recommendation for SDF Oil Filters is 12,500 miles or six months, whichever comes first.

AMSOIL 2-Cycle Oil keeps customer's engines running clean
Richard Tompkins, Midland, Texas, uses AMSOIL lubricants in all of his motorized equipment. "AMSOIL makes everything run better," Tompkins
said.
He's a house builder by trade, but he also hires out to do lawn care for love of the work, Tompkins said.
He was introduced to AMSOIL in the 1980's by a friend of his who was a sprint car driver and AMSOIL Dealer in Indiana.
He puts AMSOIL Synthetic 100:1 Pre-Mix 2-Cycle Oil in all of his lawn care equipment. "I have several pieces of equipment with two-cycle engines
ranging from 16:1 to 50:1," Tompkins said. "For the last two years I have just
|
mixed the AMSOIL 100:1 at a 50:1 ratio and I use it in everything I own. No problems, no smoke, and most important, one, yes one, gas
can." Well, actually he admits he has two gas cans. "I could not find a 6,000 watt generator with a two-cycle engine. But when I forget the regular
gasoline, the 16 horsepower Honda likes my mix just fine," he said.
He runs AMSOIL 10W-30 Synthetic Motor Oil in the Toyota Tundra he bought new two years ago. "And now, after 30,000 miles, it's finally starting to
break in," he said. "I've got a brand new engine with 30,000 miles on it."
He dismantled a weedeater once, just to see how the AMSOIL was performing. "There were no carbon deposits in it," Tompkins said. "That's unheard
of in two-cycle engines. AMSOIL's just good oil."
AMSOIL beats any competition, petroleum-based or synthetic, he said. "price-wise it's on the money, quality-wise, there's no comparison."
