I loosely fit the pieces together prior to gluing them to make sure of the fit. I wouldn't shove
them all the way together during the test fit as that might make them very hard to take apart once
it's time to glue them. The pieces need to be clean before gluing and be sure to use the cleaner
before applying the cement following the instructions. Because of the size of these 4 inch PVC
pieces it was hard to do everything fast enough before severe drying occurred. But with careful
planning and practice you can do it all at once and assemble everything while the cement is still
wet. I set one piece on the floor as I slid the pieces together so I could shove then together more
securely. By having one piece on the floor I could shove harder getting the pieces to bottom out.
Once shoved together hold them there for a while before releasing as there is a tendency for them
to slide apart, even uphill, if you release too soon. I don't know why this happens, but can ruin
your day if you release the parts too soon. Once you've held the pieces about 30 seconds you can
release carefully. Let the parts dry for several minutes, at least 30, before going to the next
section to be glued.
